We at Project Living Hope desire to be part of the community, not outsiders coming in with our own agendas. We value relationships and we believe this is especially crucial because the Haitian culture is a very relational one.
The Haitian people have the potential to develop their own communities but they need an environment conducive to empowering training, discussions, and events. We want the people of Camp Marie to have a place where they can come together to spurn one another on toward reaching their full potential.
We have already begun building relationships with the community leaders and members of Camp Marie and we are thrilled to be welcomed into their community.
The community has come together to share their ideas and hopes with us, cheer on their youth participating in our soccer program, and work to excavate a new road to our property.
Every member of the community is valuable and has something to offer. We want everyone to feel they are welcome to share their ideas, ask for help, and learn from one another.
