A Fét Lakay is a house party hosted by you! It’s an opportunity to connect the PEOPLE you care about to the CAUSE you care about. A Fét Lakay is a fun gathering catered to your friend group and focuses on your story and why you partner with Project Living Hope. We will provide you with the tools and the support you need to have a successful event.
THE PURPOSE
When we gather together, we are equipping, strengthening and encouraging one another to serve the Lord by serving others. We often spend time with our friends. But what if our friend time was an opportunity to meet a need? We will provide you with the tools and the support you need to have a successful event!
You can host an Fét Lakay in three easy steps: First, choose your theme. Second, choose your PLH ministry focus. Third, schedule your event.
Step One: Choose your FÉT LAKAY theme
There are many ways to be involved in this effort. We offer the following suggestions but you are not limited to our ideas. You are free to create an event customized to fit you. Such as hosting a Project Living Hope jewelry show, soccer game, Haitian dinner, purchasing or collecting supplies and making gifts are all ways to serve.
COOKING CLASS
Provide your guests with an authentic Haitian meal or prepare it together. We will provide you with the recipes and a shopping list.
ATHLETICS CLINIC
Host a basketball or soccer clinic. Introduce your guests to some of the difficulties the youth face playing sports in Haiti.
JEWELRY SHOW
Host a jewelry party and invite your friends to purchase items from our selection of hand-made artisan goods. We have partnered with businesses that share our passion of empowering Haitians and creating jobs.
MASONRY
Learn to mix concrete and make your own steppingstone. In Haiti, most houses are made of cinder blocks and concrete mixed by hand.
